Not to be confused with the pro-Trump conservative Colombain congresswoman Angela Vergara whose son was taken by ICE.
The actress Angela Vergara become known on television for her roles in the telenovelas Ay cosita linda mama!, Mascarada, Se armó la gorda, and Las profesionales, a su servicio.
She graduated with a degree in psychology from the Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá. Her career in media began in modeling, but she later became the presenter of the program Panorama, specifically the segment Cinescape, alongside Julián Arango. It was then that she discovered her other great talent: acting. This led to her debut in the telenovela Mascarada.
In 1997, she starred in the telenovela Ay cosita linda mama, and later, in 1999, in Se armó la gorda, alongside Marcela Benjumea and Diego Cadavid. She stated that her performance was strong, enhanced by her experience studying at the Juan Carlos Corazza school in Spain.
In 2001, she moved to Sydney, Australia, to study acting at The Acting Center. During her time there, she had a romance with Australian actor Rel Hunt and completed a diploma in Public Relations. In 2004, she was called by Canal RCN at the request of director Magdalena La Rotta to play Yamille in the telenovela Las noches de Luciana. In subsequent years, she continued acting in telenovelas and series such as La ex, Las profesionales, a su servicio, Súper pa, Mujeres asesinas, and Los caballeros las prefieren brutas. In 2011, she acted in the film Saluda al diablo de mi parte, starring Venezuelan actor Édgar Ramírez, and later in the film El Cartel. She currently resides in Madrid.
